Airalo QR code says "already redeemed"

Symptom

Scanning the QR code from your Airalo order shows "This eSIM has already been installed" or your device refuses to add the plan. The QR code is single-use — once it is consumed by any device, the same image can't be installed elsewhere.

Likely causes

Step-by-step fix

  1. 1Open the Airalo app or website and check the My eSIMs tab.
  2. 2If the eSIM appears as "Installed" on a device you no longer have, contact Airalo support with your order number for a replacement code.
  3. 3If the eSIM is installed on the wrong device, remove it from that device's Cellular settings before requesting reissue.
  4. 4Once support issues a new QR code or LPA string, install it via Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM.
  5. 5Label the new line clearly (e.g. "Airalo Japan") so the plan is easy to manage.
